Solar Panel System Installation

Wokingham, Bracknell, Reading, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Camberley

We provide a high standard of installation, and great consumer service, before, during and after each contract is agreed. We work on local projects and live locally which generally suits everybody just fine.

In order to underpin our customer service & quality commitments we are working towards membership of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, so we need to conform to their strict standards which helps ensure you get job you paid for and it lasts for years to come. More info on RECC here

We are also working towards MCS accreditations - all the paperwork has been submitted & all works completed will be issued with a valid MCS certificate.

Solar panels installation - Typically begins with a telephone consultation and then a technical site survey. We undertake projects for Domestic & Commercial customers.

We will need the site address, ideally if you have a smart meter information covering the last 12 months of energy usage plus the kWh rates which you pay.  This allows us to model the likely savings based on your current usage and tariff.

Additional solar panels - Already have panels? Yes we are able to add additional panels test if what you have is working correctly, upgrade & replace inverters or components.

Lead times - For on grid Solar Systems below 3.68KW or around 8 panels we don't need to inform the DNO (Distribution network operator) in advance of the install, for Wokingham and Berkshire it’s Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks so we can get the installation underway with minimal lead-time. For systems above this threshold we need advance approval which can take several weeks to obtain.

Batteries - Yes use these to store the excess solar energy and make use of half price off peak tariffs, those savings are just getting better & better.

Once you have solar installed; ways to maximise savings:

  • Use less Grid supplied energy
  • Have a battery storage system installed.
  • Use appliances during the day when generating, switch to Electric for cooking over gas
  • An elecric car with a compatible charger which diverts excess solar PV generation into the vehicles battery.
  • Divert the Solar PV energy to hot water - power your immersion heater with a device such as the MyEnergi Eddi
  • Overnight variable tariffs allow electricy to be purchased for half the price, oversize your battery to top up with lovely cheap electricity over night.

Some FAQ's

Yes usually required for most installations. Fitted and installed by our professional scaffolders.

When fitting the Roof mounts & cable entries to pitched roof's we use proprietary flashing kits in order to weather seal and ensure that the integrity of the roof is left fully intact.

As standard we bird proof the Solar PV array.

Are hidden nice and neatly inside the roof space and run down to the inverter position without any additional joints.

Panels now come with a manufacturer warranty of between 25 - 30 years.

Most of our customers want some sort of battery storage alongside the Solar PV install - batteries increase your self consumption and therefore once you start breaking even you do so in style.
